About Kevin Wasden
Kevin Wasden is a fantasy illustrator, writer, and educator whose work blends imaginative world-building with vibrant storytelling for readers of all ages. Known for his illustrations in science fiction and fantasy publishing, Kevin has created artwork for Avon Camelot, Baen Books, Fantasy Flight Games, and other major publishers. His portfolio includes fantasy book covers, character designs, and children’s illustrations that appeal to middle-grade, YA, and adult audiences.
In addition to his illustrations, Kevin worked as the creative director and lead costume designer at Alinco Costumes, where he designed mascots for organizations such as Disney, the Chicago Bulls, and the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also co-created the science-fiction series Hazzardous Universe and developed the webcomic Technosaurs, showcasing his talent for visual storytelling.
As an educator, Kevin has served as a high school art teacher and a K–8 principal, helping young artists develop creativity and confidence. His recent writing includes contributions to CulturED: Pathways to Meaningful School Change (2022), Lost Between Light & Shadow (2024), and Dog Save the King (2025).
Kevin continues to create fantasy art, illustrations for young readers, and narrative-driven artwork inspired by adventure, mythology, and imaginative worlds.
